What we do (page 2)

Why?

Because we enjoy it! But there are many good reasons why promoting indigenous flora is important.

The Waverley Council area is one of the most densely populated regions in Australia. However, it contains a small amount of 'green space'. Of that only 6 hectares is considered original vegetation.

Rehabilitating what we have left will:
- provide food and habitat for our native animals
- provide a stopping point for coastal migratory birds
- reduce soil erosion
- improve water quality
- create beautiful places for everyone to enjoy
- develop a carbon sink for greenhouse abatement.
